I remember I saw one of those at a dealer close to where I live. I didn't know what model was then (that was about 5 years ago I think). Now I know it was an Impala...

First was Rich, then was Tim and now is Bob! I hope he is OK. I wonder how's his Camaro doing? Man I love that car!

Re: Grand Prix "Take a Break" Thread

Yeah, sorry guys, I got a new full time job, working lots and picking up extra shifts at my part time job also. I've just been so darn busy but I've been lurking. At least I know when I'm away that your Oscar, and Rich can hold down the fort.

I was also wondering about Bob, I hope everything is alright.

But in other news, I think it may be time for the GTP to go. Sorry to say. I just washed it tonight and noticed a big patch of paint that is starting to bubble up from the darn rust. Its been an awesome car and still runs and shifts great. Just there are a few issues here and there that up until tonight I was going to fix, but after seeing the rust I may just start looking around for something new. I wish I could find a 2000-2003 GT or GTP with 50k or less. Man that would be ideal. But I'm dreaming. Had a buick regal in the shop the other day with 42k on it, a 98, I couldn't believe it. Too bad it wasn't a GP.

You can be quite sure about it! Even when a year ago I was only a "John Doe", I'm making my best effort to learn and help other people as you guys have helped me before.

Too bad to hear that Tim, you can always get my 2000 Windstar with 87k on it! . It is very reliable (when it's not broken LOL), just like a guy from the windstar forum says: "A windstar without the CEL on is not a real windstar"

Re: Grand Prix "Take a Break" Thread

I've had a bunch of those things in the shop and all seem to have that stupid lean code. Nothing really ever fixes it.

Hi Guys,

I'm fine just very busy at work and have limited time this year with AF and other things.

Also, finally sold the '97 GTP after over 13 years of ownership. I still have the '08 GXP and '11 Camaro 2SS of course.

Later and you all take care.

Yeah that sucks big time!

Hopefully mine hasn't shown any lean codes ever and I hope it stays like that. Knock on wood!

Too bad you have to sell your GP Tim, I just saw your post on craiglists. I like the color, it's not that common where I live.

Re: Grand Prix "Take a Break" Thread

Thanks guys. Had some time to come on-line today. Had to lookup my old post at Tips & Maintenance on replacing a SII 3800 water pump.

Rich, I sold it because I have no room for it anymore and the monthly storage fee was getting expensive. Too many toys?........ obviously.

The Camaro SS is bad a%# and having fun with it. So far to date I've blown the doors off three '11 Mustang GT 5.0s. Really sore losers too.

Hope everyone is doing fine. Later.

Re: Grand Prix "Take a Break" Thread

Gentlemen, I'd like to change the transmission fluid in my dad's collector car. Its a chrysler with a "Fluid Drive" trans. The shop manual calls for "10w" oil. Anyone know where I can find this so called "10w"?

Re: Grand Prix "Take a Break" Thread

Dexron-III fluid is approximately 10w, just with added anti-foam agents and detergents.

I used to blow the doors off of 5.0 Mustangs with my GTX. I'd only hope you're blowing the doors off with a 6.2 litre Camaro!

And I agree, the Mustang owners alwasy seem to be sore losers
