Re: emergency brake light comes on
It's supposed to come on when the ignition is turned on to show that it is working. As soon as you start the car it will go out. This is the way it is supposed to work and there isn't anything wrong with the brakes.

Re: emergency brake light comes on
the e brake has nothing to do with the brake fluid. its connected by cable directly from the rear drums to the handle inside the car. when i slightly bump the handle in my car the light comes on. you can adjust the switch screw if need be by removing the center console. but everything seems fine to me by what your saying.

Re: emergency brake light comes on
I guess I should have read that a little closer!
Deffinetely sounds like a normal bulb check. If it stops doing this (doesn't come on at all) or stays on all the time then there is definitely a problem.

Re: emergency brake light comes on
FYI gentlemen, it turns out the cable had been stretched by the previous owner, which causes the breaks to not fully release (I.E) the light stays on. I think this forum needs some serious help.....

Re: emergency brake light comes on
If the cable is stretched than the brakes are fully released but there isn't enough tension left to hold the handle down!
