99 Yukon rough idle after manifold gasket replacement

Hi, what a great website!
We just had our 1999 Yukon in to have a coolant leak fixed. They ended up replacing the (lower?) intake manifold gasket. The car runs great except when it's at idle- it sounds like it's going to die & then it surges and does this over and over again. Its more annoying than anything. Could the rough idle be cause by a leak in the gasket? If so, is this potentially serious or damaging to the engine?

Thank you for any help
