Belkits Peugeot 207 S2000

Hello guys!

I've just seen the new Belikits produced Peugeot 207 s2000 for 35€ ,and I'm wondering to buy it
And I saw the domino models produced 207 s2000 too. But it costs 110€!
What is de different between the two models, and which is the better? In belkits homepage I saw some first handsample photos, and I think it looks great. But I can't found any pictures from the domino version.
And anybody can tell me please, when the belkits version is available?

Thank you

Re: Belkits Peugeot 207 S2000

Hi buddy,

there is a simple reason, Belkits are plastic models (according to their products page) whereas the other models are resin models (made by Renaissance -?-).
BTW, it seems very exciting for those like me who still haven't dare to buy another expensive multimedia resin kit.

A focus WRC from a new french brand, a Peugeot 207 S2000 and a Fiesta S2000 from a new belgian brand, some really good news in plastic models world expected since Tamiya forgot what rally was...

Concerning the quality/interest of each one, hard to say, a plastic model usually offers better and more accurate shape and thickness than a resin model, and plastic is for some of us easier to work with; I saw the resin model, but never bought it (didn't 100% convinced me, so keep my priority on the Clio Maxi, the expected Quattro etc), but he is correct.
knowing a 3 times cheaper solution is now coming, and this new model seems really interesting, it's hard to advise to invest in the expensive resin kits...
Myself, I'll go with the plastic opportunity.

The 207 should be released in October, the Fiesta during next year.

Re: Belkits Peugeot 207 S2000

Thank you for your answer, rallymaster

So if we want to summarize it shortly, the Domino version is more expensive than the Belkits version just because it was made from resin?

"a plastic model usually offers better and more accurate shape and thickness than a resin model, and plastic is for some of us easier to work with"

I agree with you,I think the belkits pug 207 is near to a bigger manufacturer published model in quality (at least based on the pictures)
I never seen any resin kit with so precise shaping supply, which would reach up to the quality of the belkits (non resin) products.

I recently build the Domino resin 207: pictures of the build can be found here.

BTW Domino and Belkits are the same company

Hmm..that's new for me

And your pug is very nice, you've done good job on it

But from this photo became clear for me,that the new relase is much better than the older, resin.

Re: Belkits Peugeot 207 S2000

I don't really care building resin kits or plastic ones, I have a lot of resin kits on both scales (1/43 and 1/24), and in the resin matter there are a lot of various qualities, from the best (scale production, studio27 are among my favorite ones) to the worst (I could have thrown the Reji S1 kik through the window !! ), but one thing is sure, I won't pay more than 100 euros for a resin kit of a model also available 3 times cheaper in plastic if the resin kit doesn't bring something far better (lots of details etc) than the resin one !!!
Seeing the samples pics, I agree with you Denes, the new belkits deserve our attention !!

I think you convinced me (and I convinced myself, lol),so I think I'm going to buy the belkits version of this nice pug

And another question: Don't you know it,that the kit contains photo etched parts or not?

No sorry, I absolutely don't know... I discovered the sample pics through the link above. I hope so, it will make this model more interesting !
Anyway, the grille in bumpers can be done with PE mesh sheet. For the rest, no inevitably need of PE.
And I'm sure someone will be interested in making PE for this model as it's teh case for other plastic brands releases.

Re: Belkits Peugeot 207 S2000

Wow thanks for sharing. I knew that domino made a 207, but never heard of this company before. I believe that many modellers will snatch some of these up as barely any new rally kits have been coming out. I myself want a 207.

BTW Where will these kits be avaliable? Any USA distributors?

Amazing work!

I hope to see a gravel version (a transkit maybe) to do the last two Azores Rallye winners, Kris Meeke (2009) and Magahães (2010).
