LaFerrari Aperta Tamiya 1/24
I finally found some time (and good sunlight) to take pictures of the LaFerrari Aperta that I finished last November.
After finishing my regular LaFerrari and FXX-K, I was kind of in-the-flow, and not being sure Tamiya would eventually release a LaFerrari Aperta, I tried to build my own. Base was of course Tamiya's standard LaFerrari 1/24 kit. All body parts are painted TS6 Flat Clear, Zero Paints Canna di Fucile, and TS13 Gloss Clear. Extras added to the kit: - Tamiya P/E and C/F decals added, plus some left over P/E and C/F from a HD FXX-K detail set - special emblems '70 years' between the seats and on thé outsides - additional clear part (windbreaker?) on the upper end between the seats - seatbelts with P/E buckles - orange wires in the engine compartment - red emblems and red details for the seats - different coloring for the dashboard, with a black lower part instead of red, red horizontal lines, and red details on the air vents; on the top part I used some microballs for the Alcantara look, some C/F decals, and some additional decals for the controls - red decals from a Studio27 FXX-K sheet - valves for the rims - special license plate - E-Jan and metal tranfer emblems Here are the pictures, all comments and critics welcome!

Re: LaFerrari Aperta Tamiya 1/24
I didn't really take enough pictures to do a separate WIP, so these are the main modifications:
Reworking doors and roof Adding the orange wires to the engine The outer doors get a different shape, and since there's no window part to be installed, inner and outer door are painted as one part The black part just inside the door gets an extra opening

Re: LaFerrari Aperta Tamiya 1/24
What is the reason for paining it first TS6 Flat Clear? Or was it Zero Canna di Fucile color coat then TS13 Gloss Clear? Im a bit confused here I guess, just curious.

Good thing I still had a 3/4 jar of Canna di Fucile from my FXX-K.

For me, using Tamiya spray cans is a lot easier than using the airbrush. But in the end, spraying more Zero's onto the grey primer will surely have the same (visual) effect.

Needs a bit of trial and error every time. I think I even did this before putting on the clear. In the above pics, the grey of my emblems is much lighter than the car, but IRL the difference can hardly be seen.
