Advice needed re: a/m enhancements

G'day all

Reading through some of the build logs in the motorsport section here really highlights just how short I am in building my models to a higher standard - despite the time & effort I am spending on careful painting & detailing of what's already in the box.
So...I've decided to change things up & start splashing out on braided hose & A/N fittings, etc to authenticate things a bit more.
As a general rule, what sizes of these sorts of a/m bits do you guys suggest getting a hold of?

Cheers

it's really a question of what looks right, I just keep a variety of sizes and pick what looks right for where I am using them

0.8mm 1.0mm and 1.2mm for braided hose
I don't remember the a/n fittings sizes

Like the others say, first I would get me a bunch of different sizes of braided lines and fittings. Usually the fittings come in different sizes in one pack. If you buy them individual like R.B.motion you have to measure them

I woul recommend the MFH set since they look good and are not that expensive.

I recommend to buy the unplated set, becasue drilling in the chromed set is extremely (!!!!) hard. And I personally think it really important to drill/open the holes a bit to slip the lines further in for a better look and fit. You can even open holes slightly in case you braided line won't fit.

I wouldn't buy these here

Because you have to slip the line over that small pin and that simply doesn't look right and the braided line tends to "go bobbly" on the edges...no no not looking good

But TopStudio now have new AN parts were you can build your own sets:

Opens a lot of room for customizing.

For me I used to use the MFH set with success and the RB motion ones. But recently I printed my own in 3D. This way I can make every needed size and alo special fittings not available anywere else.

Once painted they look and work amazing. They look a bit crude in the closeup becasue of the waste resin not yet removed.
