Arrow alero 3400V6 ..vs.. Acura 3.0CL

ok guys got one for ya, who do you think would win in a heads up race eaither from rolling or dig..."both stock"
here are the stats
my buddies 97 acura 3.0cl
-3.0v6 200hp and 195lbs torque
- 4spd auto
- V-TEC ENGINE!
...OR MY 2002 ALERo 3400v6
-170hp 3.4v6 200 lbs torque
-4spd auto aswell

he tells me he will kill me, because of only having 170hp but i tell him it will be a fair match due to my larger displacment, and tittle more torque...so what do you think guys.....

Hard to say without knowing the vehicles' weights and gearing. I know that GM's pushrod V6s and 4-speed automatics tend to put up much better performance than their numbers would indicate, so I think it'll be a damn close race going off of that alone. I guess the only way we'll ever know is...race them and find out :P

I don't think that the torque advantage will mean much at all, given that it's really small.

It's all about which one's lighter.

like kman said, GM "non performance" vehicles tend to sometimes really give cars a run for their money.

look for the race to be very similar until about 60mph when i would think the Acura will start to pull away. GM's automatic's gearing suck large, grotesque monkey balls. i can hang with Mustang GT's in 1st gear in my GTP but as soon as i hit 2nd the damn thing falls right on its face.

id put my money on the acura, even though its hard to say considering i dont know the weight, but id assume its about even. your extra displacement means nothing considering his car still makes more power. and the extra 5 ft/lbs will do very little in your favor as well.
