03 Maxima Fr passenger door won't unlock

My front passenger door for my 2003 Maxima won't unlock. When I press the unlock button on my side console the lever will open half way and it makes a shuttering sound like it's trying to unlock but won't. When I manually try to unlock, the lever will only go half way and won't open the door.
Any idea's?

How to get a thief in via that door? Leaving broken (?) phone on the seat, visible from that win...

I'd go to a nissan spezilist shop, opening there is a 30sec job. Then the repair is easy as u can access, open the panel. 'Anyshop' is costly in this issue.
