so it's not the fastest thing on wheels

recently i aquired a 98 breeze...2.4 dohc. i've been racing since i started driving but it's hard to go from an 86 5.0 to this. i haven't had much experience with 4 bangers but it's all i have at the current time. i'm building a custom exhaust on it right now but anyone have any ideas other than that on where to start and what to look for to get the most out of this engine. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: so it's not the fastest thing on wheels

Trust me i wish i could tell you. Everything you have to do will have to be custom. This was just a car i acquired on the side after i bought my first. so I was toying around with it a little until the one i had died. You can cut off the catalytic converter, cold air intake, cylinders bored .040, mill down the deck of the block so the pistons are just about to the top of the block(insane power add), straight pipe exhaust(AEM), 60lb fuel injectors, and a larger throttle body. I have it done to mine and it will smoke the streets. But with this the motor mounts commonly break so you would have to chain link them, and its a pain bc of such little working area in the compartment
