Crossfire need more horsies.....
I think it does. It looks like the type of car that can do 0-60 in 5 seconds or something, and a top speed of 155 plus. But for the current 0-60 in 6.8 seconds? c'mon, a little more juice than that.
Needs something like 300 plus horsies. |

Re: Crossfire need more horsies.....
I heard the same thing about a supercharged model coming out soon with an SRT-6 badge. I think it had like 330 hp and 0-60 in 5.1 sec. I do believe.

well next year the 300C and the Mag with the HEMI's will get 425 so hold on for some more time till you get one. The SRT-8 300C might even get to around 475 or even 500...

Re: Crossfire need more horsies.....
I am a Chrysler salesman. The new SRT-6 has a 3.2L Supercharged V6 330 hp stock. Basically its a Mercedes SLK w/ chrysler badges.

Re: Crossfire need more horsies.....
I hate that, i work at mercedes, im a tech. And i hate the fact that Chrysler is using our engines to power there cars. Stupid murger.
But there will be good from this, the SRT-6 will have upgrades like the SRT-4 neons do. So all the mercedes guys will be after supercharger upgrades and stuff. |

Re: Crossfire need more horsies.....
It could stand a little more HP, but is fine as it is. The chip and K & N filters that I have installed do make a difference.

I think the Chrysler Firepower concept suits Chrysler better than the Crossfire. The Firepower uses a Dodge Viper's chassis, but is tuned to be a GT car. It would spread costs if it were built.

The regular model(2xx hp?) is indeed pathetic. I met a guy with a '05 Si a week back over at a friends house. I decided to ride with him a couple of days ago to see if I liked the car and he played around with a white dogback(heheheh) Crossfire. We stayed right at the guys door the entire race. He looked soo pissed...
And as for the SRT-6, 330hp isn't nearly enough for a $45k Chrystler. |

Re: Crossfire need more horsies.....
Keep in mind...unlike the crossfires main competator, the 350Z, the crossfire has more torque than it does horsepower. while the torque is still less than that of the Z, its not too far off. After driving my dads crossfire i felt like it pulled pretty damn good from a role...off the line it could use some work. But overall the car felt strong and if you are looking for more speed...get a used SRT-6...ive seen them sell just around 30 grand now.
