Front engine dragster 1:16 - Sizzler

This time something a wee bit different for me.

I am doing up the Revell 1:16 front engine car of Tony Nancy known as 'Sizzler'.

Always liked these diggers, and the kit cost me a pretty sum so hopefully it is a looker in the cabinet once done!

Re: Front engine dragster 1:16 - Sizzler

I built this dragster a couple years ago and still have it in my display case. I think you will like it as much as I did when it was built. While quite fragile, these dragster and funny car kits build into some nice display pieces.

Good luck, have fun, and I will be following your build; I'm sure it will look great!

v/r,

Re: Front engine dragster 1:16 - Sizzler

Slowly getting there on this one, loads of cleaning required on the parts, but so far im pretty happy with how it is coming together.

Mocked up the panels to check fitment before I start installing parts into the frame and am reasonably happy with how everything sits. Have started stripping the mountain of chrome back as a lot of what is chrome plated in the kit, isn't meant to be so am currently bathing everything in oven cleaner. Few images of how it sits currently.

Slowly ticking away on the build. With everything being installed into a single small area it feels like I am making no progress despite being half way through the kit.

Engine is done now, will be adding a minor bit of additional plumbing once installed into the chassis. Currently working on the cockpit. Diff is in and brake lines are being plumbed up.

Got colour on the bodywork too so feels good to see that.

Will keep trucking on with it!
