96 civic runs 11 second quarter mile

If you aussies hadn't heard through the street circles

Quote from Performance Forums:

"Hmmnn..

Anyone that ever criticised me for buying a Civic VTEC should have been at Eastern Creek last night... A mate of mine had his turboed 1.6L civic running a best time of 11.54 at 131mph, and this was its' first meeting! The car still wasn't launching all that well due to wheelspin...

Not bad for a 1.6 litre front wheel drive....."

And apparently this car is also for sale too. I saw it in this weeks trading post.

"HONDA CIVIC VTIR 1996 White hatchback manual, turbocharged by Hypertune, fully optioned, serviced regularly, low kms, logs, APEXi PowerFC ECU, DMS racing coilovers, Blitz injectors, HKS manifold, head gasket, Earls oil cooler, intercooler, 3in stainless steel exhaust and much more, ADK-11H, excellent condition, $30000 negotiable CAMPERDOWN 02-9517 3760 or 0413-114904 cyberex@ozemail.com.au "

THE ULTIMATE SLEEPER

Sounds sweet - although I wonder about the times quoted. That's awful close to Croydon's H22 powered Civic.

Besides - I've never understood turboing a VTEC engine. I'd put a non-VTEC engine in and then turbo it

Does sound sweet, but I still wouldn't pay that much for it though!

Exactly...... So much to choose from :hehehe:

Or you could go back to basics, buy a 1G and do it up

Or if I wanted to get a 2nd car, I'd buy myself a CRX or something or something stock as, and make it a sleeper. Plus I could always use that money for a deposit for another home, and then live off the rent

P.S Setanta, talked to my cousin today, he said he will have to find out whether my other cousin wants the city turbo first. They're always indecisive in the that family. If I hear anything else I'll let you know. They take forever to decide about anything.

I wouldn't mind having the city as a 2nd car, but then you know I've been spending on my teg already, and I might get carried away with 2 toys :hehe:

Haha...I wish...but not a very viable option at the moment....especially considering I just bought a unit, and now have a mortgage HAHA...

But hey.....atleast the unit has already made me $40K, unlike cars, which depreciate

Sweet. How did you manage such a quick return?

Well...that's just a figure...I wouldn't be able to reap the rewards unless I sold the unit ofcourse, which defeats the purpose of negative gearing.

I bought off the plan, and once the units were completed, they were automatically worth an extra 15% on top of off the plan purchase price.

Nice one. I'm looking closer and closer into buying property, but at the moment I have to get finances in order so that I'm comfortable doing it. One of the guys at work owns 3 properties and is always berating me for not having a nest egg set up.

Pish. You can sleep in your car, but you can't drive your house.

Yeah - but sleeping in your car on a regular basis gets you labelled - as a bum
