98 Frontier P1148 code help
98 Frontier 2wd, 5spd "service engine soon" lit up on dash, 120K on vehicle, scanned at Autozone, P1148 came up, reviewed Haynes manual, OBDII list "closed loop control fault (right bank)". Only service item of recent - changed plugs less than 1000 miles ago; recommended Bosch platinum 2 prong and DID NOT gap as listed. Could not find enough specifics to make educated repair decision. Appreciate any advice.

Any other codes? Check all O2 sensor operations. May be a bad 02 sensor or wiring not letting it go into closed loop. MT

No other codes listed, thanks for the advice. Assume your reply is based on past experience?

About 45 years. Somthing is holding it back from going into closed loop. You need to get it on a good engine capable scanner. Check 02 sensors and tempt sensors and other stuff. And pitch the bosch plugs. Good luck MT
