Smile Installation of Prostart Car Starter

Hi,
I have a 2003 Kia Sodona. I bought a car starter from Canadian Tire. How complicated is this to install? I have the remote start and anti-theft in my vehicle.
Thanks in advance. You can e-mail me at buffywine@kwic.com.

Re: Installation of Prostart Car Starter

If you know what you are doing it's pretty easy. Those cars are not complicated at all. Are you positive that you have the coded key. I've never found one of those cars to have the coded key although my information always says they should have them.

Thank you for your reply. The coded key I assume you mean the code on my set of keys for the vehicle? Canadian Tire wants $400 to install it. I paid $100 for the starter package.

Re: Installation of Prostart Car Starter

WOW. $400??? That install shouldn't be more than about 90 minutes. Here in the States I charge only $100 and people around here complain of that price.

About the keys....go and have one of your key's copied and cut to see if it'll start your car. Also, go to www.bulldogsecurity.com and look up your car's wiring info. It really isn't all that hard if you grasp the 12v. concept.

Re: Installation of Prostart Car Starter

I am trying to install a Prostart into my 2008 Sedona. All the wiring I require is done except for the park lights. The instructions call for a positive and I am getting conflicting information about this connection. Some sources say it is positive others say it is negative. Without the lights I am not able to confirm that it is working properly. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

wood
