2.9 to 4.0

Have a 88 Bronco 2 with the 2.9 V-6,4 speed auto trans-the later model 4.0 looks identical-anybody with expieriance with this swap? I don't want to go with a V-8 5.0 conversion.Thanks

The 2.9 and the 4.0 share the same block. but it's too much work for the ammount of money and the ammount of power that you gain. Looked into about 5 months ago. The trans for the 4.0 is different. than the one for the 2.9 it's beefier.
