Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
yes, flatten all his tires before the race....but seriously the new tiburon has a pretty bad power to weight ratio (20 for the I4 and 17 for the v6)...so maybe with minor mods to your engine you may squeeze out the win.

Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
Just got 2 quick questions...
I'm 16 years old and my dad owns a used car lot, i go to the car auctions with him alot so i have good means to get a car. I already have a 93' Saturn sl1 given to me from a cousin and i dont like it due to the lack of moddability<--- that prolly wasnt a word either... ANYWAYS! I've narrowed my choices down to a 92' Honda Civic EX Hatchback. Please give me some tips on what kind of 92 civic hatchback to look for (ex: vtec, si, ect) also what is the best possible engine that i can drop in with the very least ammount of labor (ex: brakets or mounters or something like that) I am sorry guys and gals im not very knowledgable so please bare with me. I'm doing my best to learn about the 92 hatchback and what is the best possible set up for street drag racing (parents actually OK'd street racing!) Also does anybody know if i could possibly trade my saturn for the civic?? |

well a 92 hatch doest weight a lot. and if you got the cash a b18c1(gsr motor) would be really nice, not too manny mods...if you find good deals(2000-3000$) should be the swap and then the car 1000-2000$ and pay some1 to do the swap, if you cant, and + some money for extra stuff, pretty much all the time you run into extra costs. Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
you pretty much just wasted anyones time who came in here and read that. you didnt give him any info about what it entails to do the engine swap, or anything specific.
you need the engine/trans/mounts/linkage/axles/engine harness/ecu. the GSRs engine harness will plug right into the factory wiring under the hood of the hatch. however some wires arent there. one for the knock sensor and one for the vtec silenoid, I thought there was one or two more but cant remember what they are right now. never raplaced a D15 with a B18C so I dont know about the manifolds, but I know a B18B replacing a D15 the exhaust bolted right up, Id assume it would with the C1 but not sure cuz the GSR/civic swap Ive done replaced a B16 so it was CAKE! the ECU under the passenger kick panel, unplug one and plug in the other, but youll have to run those wires. a FSM for the donor car and your car would be nice to trace down wires, my chiltons have a wiring schematic as wel but IM sure the FSM's are better. and also if you live in a cold state the stock radiator should do fine, I had that little single core half width thing keep my high cr B20 cool in washington, but when I drove to cali it didnt cut it, got a prelude dual core full width radiator and never had another problem. also, what is an EX hatch? you in canada? cuz I know up there the trim levels arent the same.

Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
K20 wont fit into a 91 no way major work id suggest b16 A or ZC be the easiest jobs with hasport motor mounts of course b16 A has bout 160 hp DOHC good motor out of delsol Vtec.

Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
where the hell did you get k20 from? also, if its going into a 91, then you wouldnt want to get a swap from a del sol vtec unless all you want is the long block and you are sourcing the harness/ecu/tranny elsewhere because as you might know the del sol is OBD1 and has a hydro tranny and the 91 hatch has a cable tranny aside from being OBD0.

That's the kind of stuff the Classified forum is for, not here. So post a "WTB: B18C1" thread there.

Re: b16a/b vs b18b/c vs h22/23 vs b20 FAQ
EB
The EB series displaced 1.2 L (1170 cc) and was an SOHC 8-valve design with a 2 barrel carburetor. Output for the EB1 was 50 bhp (37 kW) @ 5000 rpm and 59 ft·lbf (80 Nm) @ 3000 rpm, and this was up to 63 bhp (47 kW) @ 5000 rpm and 77 ft·lbf (104 Nm) @ 3000 rpm for the EB2 and EB3.
