Kia Sorento 3.5L 51,000 collapsed tensioner
My 2006 Kia Sorento's tensioner collapsed and shut off. I used a screw driver and the belt tightened up properly. UPS delivered my new tensioner yesterday I am going to install it and alignment the gears if it runs satisfactorily I will put it together.
As its an interference engine it may or may not run. The tensioner appears cheap from what was on my Mazda 929. Any one else had their tensioner go out this quick. |

Re: Kia Sorento 3.5L 51,000 collapsed tensioner
It had a Gates timing belt and a new GMB water pump. I put on the old belt and rotated by hand. I plan on installing a new timing belt tensioner ,timing belt and idler pulleys, water pump. I'm seriously thinking of getting a different vehicle.
My Mazda 929 was much easier to work on than this vehicle for a timing belt and pulling radiator. |
