96 Eclipse RS-T 420a Clutch Problem

Hey guys I have a 96 eclipse rs-t thats having a few issues... I recently changed the clutch to a stage 2 kit with the throwout bering and flywheel(Bahnhof). A new tranny, New Clutch Slave/Master cylinder, Throwout bearing, and it is still makinng grinding noice like the car wants to go in gear but it dosent. It seens as if the clutch isnt ingaging all the way even after bleeding the lines multiple times. The clutch pedal has about 5 in's of play... then when you push it to the floor it has pressure but seems like it isnt enought to help with the clutch. Can anyone help?

Re: 96 Eclipse RS-T 420a Clutch Problem

Sounds like the clutch is not fully releasing. The clutch should only have about 1-2 inches of free play at the top of the pedal. After that it should start to push out the slave cylinder. If it has more free play then you probably have air in the line still. You can also measure the movement of the slave cylinder, If I remember right the slave needs to move about 0.350in to release the clutch. If you are not getting that much travel then you have air in the line, clutch pedal out of adjustment, or the rubber line needs to be replaced.
