2005 stalls and stalls and stalls...

Maybe someone can help me? I have a 2005 manual transmission, 2.3liter engine. When I first start it, it idles rough, but stays running. After it warms up, and I drive it a little ways, it stalls at stop lights, signs, etc. It seems to run fine when I am driving it. It stalls more when it's warmed up. Idles rough. I smell sulfur sometimes. My gas mileage has gone down. It may have started acting up like this shortly after I gave it a qt. of oil. Someone suggested the fuel filter and pvc valve (?). Someone suggested plugs and wires (this car has no wires- it has the coil thing) Someone suggested changing the air filter (this car doesn't have a changeable air filter). I have not had a problem starting it again after it stalls, but I am a little concerned I will start to wear out my starter. Any advice?

If it's been using oil that will clog up a converter. I'm not trying to be smart, but if it doesn't have a changeable air filter what does it have? Just asking.

EGR valve not closing all the way causing too much exhaust to be reburned in the combustion chamber. see this prob all the time in the shop. Carbon build-up on the valve surface. Give it a good cleaning, if that fixes the prob then replace it. Stalling on decelleration?? No? Stop lights, stop signs? Runs like crap for a while...Sometimes runs fine? It will eventually get to the point where it wont even idle.
