98 RS, how many DIN?

What's the DIN for my eclipse deck? I really want to get a double-DIN DVD player in my car. Does anyone have one already? Pics maybe?

Re: 98 RS, how many DIN?

Dude, we've got atleast 1000 of them, if not more.

Kidding. Pretty sure my Talon has two,and I think its the same for all DSMs. Someone correct me if I am wrong but isnt the number of DIN slots the number of standard size aftermarket CD players that will fit in the radio area?

EDIT: Thanks for posting in the RIGHT SUBFORUM! Deh cheat gets a trow-fee!

You're right. We all have 2 Din slots. Most stock radios take up 2 slots, while most aftermarkets take 1 din slot.

Re: 98 RS, how many DIN?

Although our cars have double din dashes..I dont think that a double din DVD/CD/TV will work in our cars. My brothers got one in his chevy truck and its pimpin so I looked for some on crutchfield for my eclipse. But every unit they had in stock said that it wouldnt fit in my car.

I think physically they will fit in our dashes, but when the screen folds down for you to put the disks in, I think the screen will hit the shifter...

Yeah I haven't found a site yet that says they will fit, but being double slots I can sure as hell make it fit. I was just wanting to make sure before I got one cause I knew it looked like DSMs ran doubles. Hell yeah, thanks guys.

That's what I'll be working on once my car is running... Think I can fit the AFC in there under a single din head unit?

Cause he's been working on that car for the past 2 years and hasn't finished it yet, nor will he ever.

Re: 98 RS, how many DIN?

!

I put my aftermarket guages in the spots where the HVAC controls are supposed to be. Sure they sit in there all nice, but you damn near have to break out a chain saw to clear out enough room for the buggers. I think my HVAC controls will just end up below the CD player is supposed to be.
