Re: 06 commander fob

As far as I know, there is no connection between a FOB and the tire pressure sensor. The tire pressure sensor can be very sensitive and the light can come on even if your tire is + or - 2psi from factory setting. As far as the FOB goes, I just had the same issue with mine. Everything seemed to be alright, but it just didn't want to work. I took it in to the dealer to have it reprogrammed with no joy. Ended up buying a new uncut key off ebay, then had it cut and programmed. I'm sure you can program the keys yourself, but I'm not sure how. Anyone else know the steps for reprogramming a commander key?

Re: 06 commander fob

Actually the tire pressure monitoring system and keyless entry are very much related. They both are part of the wireless control module.Sometimes the module just freaks out and locks up and disconnecting the battery will sometimes fix it.If not,you will need a to check for codes in the system

Re: 06 commander fob

Just today, I went to discount tire, thought I had a leak. The indicator was on. Turns out two of my tires had too much air in them, I thought the light was just for low pressure.

Re: 06 commander fob

Do you only have 1 remote programmed? (2 remotes came with the vehicle when sold new).

If you have access to the 2nd remote, see if the vehicle responds - you might just need a new battery in that non-functional remote.

If neither respond, you can test the batteries if you have a multimeter/battery tester.

If the batteries are good and you haven't dropped the remote(s) in water to damage them, you may want to bring the vehicle into your local dealer and have them check out your vehicle's keyless receiver.
