2000 GA - Service Engine Light & Trac Light
My car has been starting fine, a little rough sometimes, but this morning I was driving to work and it was really windy and really cold, I had the cruise set, then my car like stalled and the cruise came off, the trac light came on for a second or two then my car just started to loose power, I pulled over, and when I did it lost all power, I turned it off, waited a few seconds then started it again, I drove it for another few miles or so and then it did it again, except this time my service engine light came on, This happend three times. I went to Autozone and had them run codes and they said it was Lean Bank 1, can anybody help me out with what might be wrong before I go spending ourageous amounts of money. Thanks!!

Sounds like a possible injector/fuel pump failure, but your symptoms are hard to diagnose due to the multiple systems that could cause them.

Yes you do have multiple problems there. Lean bank 1 would mean not enough fuel to that side. The cruise would cut out as a safety. The track on/off light I find is mostly meaningless in these situations. On my 2000 GA-GT just went through alot of work.Cracked intake manifold where the temp sensor screws in.The aluminum is so thin there could have used it for a foil hat. Had what was thought to be a bad fuel pump but turned out to be the fuel harness going to it. The car would stall after hitting a bump or so. Then start up. I have a good Mechanic who works with me through these problems. He kept the car and had it on the lift-pull the harness fuel pump shut down--1 finger pushing it up fuel pump on. You should find 1 (you'll need it ). He charges me a decent price but if the car go's down again for what could be a related problem he takes it right in. No charge most times unless its for a part. I can do most work by myself but without diagnostic equipment and a warm garage its tough. Good Luck and hope its nothing to serious. AAA does'nt hurt either had the car towed 4X in 5 weeks. Now I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport to deal with. I should have stayed an auto-mech when I was young!!!!!!

Thank you both for your input, last night going home, I never had any problems and my service engine soon light even went off. This morning coming to work, I did have my cruise set,I got about 6 miles from home and it did it again. I took off the cruise and I got about about another 8 miles and it lost power then died, I got it started again, got about 5 miles then it lost power and died and I never could get it started again. So now I am having it towed this morning and I will keep yall posted on what the problem is. Thanks again for all your help.
