question

I have a 04 chevy Colorado and well I've had a few different problems. The oil light came on i checked the oil it was low I then added some and the oil light came on still. I get the oil changed they tell me I have oil leak . Ok I have someone else check to see where the leak is he doesn't find one. I take it to a shop they tell me I have a pound to a pound and a half of oil pressure and there's alot of sludge so I basically need a new engine. A friend tells me to run some marvel mystery oil to clean out the sludge . Should this fix my problem? The oil light hasn't came back on since I've done this . Could it be the oil pump or sending switch?

Re: question

A pound to a pound and a half is not good......if that is the actual pressure....

I think you need at least 4 psi to turn the light off....

Need to check the pressure with a gauge again, to see what the actual pressure is....

Also, keep an eye on your oil level.....

How low was the oil level? How many miles since that last oil change?

How many miles on the truck, now?
