Next Model....SLK 230
Well this is the next one i have started.
Impressions so far..... Needs a lot of work to sand up the seem lines on all parts. Have spent all day today sanding parts before painting. Detail is good on all parts. Most parts are quite "chunky" or "heavy" in the plastic and need a bit of work to make things look right. Body is well made, just the usual seem lins etc. Chassis is all in one piece mostly so it makes it hard to detail the engine/exhaust. So far the body is painted and all parts are sanded and ready to paint. Body is gloss black. 2 coats of primmer and 4 top coats...looks great.

Does it have any option to take the top down?
I wish I'd taken pics for you... Does it include the AMG badges? |

It has all the AMG badges but they dont look that good in quality. Have to see what they look like once they are on. The grill is all one piece and you have to paint the logo ...thought they would give you a nice decal for it.

Yep! Welcome to Fujumi kits!
In most caes I transfer the parts over to the Tamiya version, ala my EVO eXtreme! But it is time consuming! Just can't get on with that chunkiness! But hey, there range is massive! can't wait to see it! Glad you are moving straight onto another project too! Keep 'em coming! Oh! Nice horse! Does that come with the kit????????? |

Well the kit is almost finished and i get some pics up later.
Thoughts so far.... Disappointing kit. The windows fit badly. Getting the body on to the chassis is a major job which i nearly lost the plot with. The chassis is to short for the body. The front wheels fit in the arch-well good, but the back wheels are hard up against the front of the wheel arch.....more mucking around to get them in the centre Front lights are to big for the kit....looks like a bumble-bee !!! General fitting of the parts are not to bad....but a long way off from a Tamiya kit. The car just doesnt look right....doesnt seem to be in proportion Just got the body to polish up and small details to put on.....pics to come later.

I watched my cousin build a Fujumi FTO and decided I didn't fancy it, and I doubt I would have enjoyed building my EVO Extreme as much as transfering the parts to Tamiya's great body! These companies have so much catching up to do, and Tamiya have pushed the boundaries out now with photoetched details and window masks! It's the subjects that make us look to other companies I guess! |
