Unhappy 84Camaro 700R4 Transmission Problems

I recently purchased a 1984 z28 that just had a 350 4 bbl put in, now it will only move in rev. and drive in the overdrive pos.. can anyone help?

Not clear here, it moves in rev in the od position, not forward?

if its reverse and 1st gear only then this is most likely the plastic governor gear.. these wear out back in the day. I still have a 1984 Camaro berlinetta.
