Question 40th Anniversary Thunderbird

I'm interested in a 40th Anniversary Edition '95 Ford Thunderbird. It has original 'flip flop' factory paint (violet color), 28,500 original miles, 4.6 V-8, and has supposedly been stored for 12 years (with monthly drives to keep everything working). I'm curious what would be a good ballpark selling price for such a find.

Perfect non-anniversary versions are around $3,500. Perfect anniversary are priced around $9,500, but finding people that will pay that asking price is a different matter.

Re: 40th Anniversary Thunderbird

It does seem to be in pristine condition, although I'll have to go visit and determine that for myself. If the range you quoted is true, then this one should be a great deal. Thanks!

I believe it was, yes. Never went and checked it out though, was kind of put off by the all caps responses I received through texts, and the fact I didn't have much spending cash at the time. Wish I had jumped on it though, after seeing all the awful options for vehicles I have now.

Happy for you though; I'm still looking for a reliable old Ford like a Vic or T-bird.

We looked at the car one week-end picked it up the next Thursday.

We had the following done to it.

4 new tires
serpentine belt
Low pressure switch for the A/C
New turn signal arm
oil change

I've polished/buffed it twice, scotchguarded the carpet, seats, tinted the windows, keyless/remote start, and a after market stereo. BUT, the original stereo will fit right back in.

It got 27 mpg coming home, and is averaging 24-26 highway.

The guy has a Silver Wing Honda bike with very low miles too.

He's a class act !!!!!!!!!!

I really like the car !!!!!!!!! I was looking for a Mustang when I found it.

Sounds like you did everything I planned on doing to it! I managed to find another 'bird, although it isn't an Anniversary edition this time around, but she'll fly just as high I hope.

The stereo, window tint, and keyless was done in Pittsburg, ks., at Creative Car Audio.

They do really nice work.

Re: 40th Anniversary Thunderbird

The one I went and looked at was a slick vermillion red LX edition. Had the thunderbird logo on the silver rocker panels. Looked like a sweet ride on the outside and interior, but there were a few things I saw that needed work, namely the transmission. The thing was bone dry when we checked it, and it shifted rough; would hate to burn it out on the two hour drive back. Power steering belt (or pump) needed adjustment due to a severe squeal on turning the wheel; and the rubber parts of the struts were severely worn.

Gotta watch those old garaged gems, and stone faced old men who sell them.

I ended up buying a nice Lincoln instead. Will be a lot cheaper to fix up and last me longer.

Question Re: 40th Anniversary Thunderbird

I love those old Lincolns. I've owned 2 of them.

Somewhere around here, I "think" I have an factory owners manuel on them.

I'd have to search for it.

What year is yours ??

2000. It's a great ride so far, and I have the original manual in case you were offering.
