'92 Ram Van fuel gauge "bounce"
When I fill the van with gas the gauge goes to the full indication but after using about 1/4 of a tank (I think I have a 30 gallon tank) the gauge begins to move up and down randomly. Once I have used about 1/2 of a tank the gauge shows empty but still "bounces" a little.
How do I determine if the problem is the gauge or the sending unit? thanks, mike |

Re: '92 Ram Van fuel gauge "bounce"
I also had the same problem with my 94 b250 conversion van. I stopped using cheaper ethanol based gas and used the non ethanol 93 octane with lucas fuel additive. the problem went away, then tried using the cheaper ethanol based gas again and the problem returned. someone told me that the ethanol gas is gumming up the fuel line. Needless to say I only use the non ethanol gas with lucas and I get much better MPG
