Hey fellow passodeo owners, and suv enthusiasts. I have a 95 passport with the 3.2 lt v6 and have been messing around with it a bit. My cousin who was hurting for cash sold the car to mee for $500!!! Ive had it for about 6 months now and well its grown on me. I dig the HP it has. I was really actually surprised at how well it down in the mountains. My commute to wrks sucks though. lol im pulling about 12-15 mpg depends on how late I am for work lol.
Either way prev owner didnt take to great of care in it. Hell well i checked the oil the first day i got it it was almost bone dry. Which is my first issue that I, and probably 75% of passodeo owners are going threw. The oh so famous knock coming from the motor. From what Ive seen and read most of the time its the rockers and rocker shafts having alot of wear on them from starving it of oil. first question was i was wondering if anyone has done an engine rebuild on theres and if its even worth it. I did a Seafoam treatment to the oil. (8oz Seafoam 4Qt oil and 1Qt lucas oil stab. ran it for half hour drained and did another full oil change) didnt help one bit. But that was before I knew what the noise was. I thought it was just a gummed up rocker or something in there. Keep in mind though guys this babies only got 111,000 mi on the engine so it should run for double what it has. im just wondering if its worth the time and money to rebuild the engine or jsut simply run it until it dies and see about swapping it out with anouther 3.2
Anyway there is plenty that i would do with the car if i had a lot of dough. But then again if i had alot of Dough i would just get an old 1st gen Blazer lift it 4 in and throw a blower and a new trany in it and show it. May be just weird to you but that sounds bad as hell to me. But i have what i have and might as well do what i can with it. also was thinking about a 2 in lift on it. Never lifted a truck there for i dont know what all it takes but im sure new tires and potential new drivetrain for the extra length. Then again i doubt it its only two inches. Is that worth it does anyone think?
well for now that is all but let me know what ya think or heck just comment on here to BS about trucks.
