1967 pontiac lemans convertible
I need to drop the steering column in my 67 lemans and can't figure it out

Look under the dash should be a bracket holding the column up, no? Under the lower column cover.

I have removed the bracket holding the column to the dash and can wiggle the column up and down a little but need to drop for clearance to remove gauge bezel.
any other suggestions would be appreciated. |

The column can only go so far down as the connection to the " rag joint at the steering box and fire wall hole limit the movement, you may have to disconnect it at the rag joint and pull it up some, not sure, maybe remove the steering wheel?

Once You loosen it from under the dash You may have to un-bolt it from the firewall to drop it down further?
