thump noise in rear

325ia. when car is warm and i shift from rev. into drive i hear a thump in rear. sometimes its soft and somtimes its a loud thump. also when it does this it feels like there's to much torque being delivered to rear. took to dealer and they replaced dme module but car still does it. anyone else have this problem or any suggestions.

Re: thump noise in rear

Is your car equipped with sub-woofer? If so it could be that it is acting up. Knew someone who had the same problem. Try turning if off and see what happens.

Re: thump noise in rear

its not a problem, too much endplay in the output shaft of the transmission, a common thing with gm transmissions.
