Porsche 936, Tamiya, 1/24
Hi
I finished a final one for the year - the Porsche 936/78, the well known, simple Tamiya kit. I try to build a Martini car each year, I managed to do so in most of the years, but this time it almost went wrong: for the first time since I use it, the Mr. Super Clear reacted with the decals, severely wrinkling some of them. I managed to rescue them, by first sanding off the worst wrinkles, touching up those spots by brush, and then putting lots of clear on top of it, so I could sand a smooth surface above the wrinkles. That worked quite well, it's not easy to spot the problematic areas. Unfortunately I had lots of problems with dust in the clear that I did not manage to sand away everywhere and also I tried to emphasize the gaps on the doors and cowling by painting the seams, but even though I only used a medium grey the effect is a bit strong for my taste, not helped by the fact, that the seams were almost filled by the clear. Well, I guess I'll build this one again some time; you can't have enough Martini cars. Painted with TS26, mixed the blue from TS15 and 10, Mr. Super clear. I added leukosilk belts and better headlights from Scale Productions. Hope you like it!

Turned out fantastic - you can't tell there were any problems with the decals!

By looking at the pictures I just see a beautiful model
I had the same clear problem with TS-13 over DMC decals lately. I sanded most of the wrinkles but was reluctant to do touch ups. Now your experience gives me more confidence to resume with the restoration |
