Unhappy Air filter washed, car won't start

Okay, so let me start by saying that my friend and I are extremely stupid, and we know exactly what we did wrong.

So, we were doing general maintenance on our cars, his: A 2007 Holden Commodore SSV VE Series 2.
Mine: A 1999 Toyota Rav4.
It came to my car, we checked oil, window washer levels, then took the air filter out and washed it. Except, we decided to put it back in while it was still damp. Yeah, I know, big mistake. So now my car will crank very slowly, start at extremely low revs if I push the gas, and full throttle has become the same as lightly tapping the gas. It dies once I let go of the gas.

Suggestions, lads?

Sounds like the mass airflow sensor has gotten wet. You may be lucky and only need to clean the MAS. There is a cleaner available specifically for MAS's or you may only need to remove it and let it dry out.

Will certainly give that a try.
