Venturi
Venturi, the little known french company is the French equivalent of Ferrari. Im not quite sure how long it has been around for nor have i ever seen a Venturi, as they are fairly expensive for an unestablished brand. They are supposed to be alternatives to 911's and equivalent ferrari's and do make sense in some ways (exclusivity) except financially. Still, i think both cars are beautiful and the 400GT even reminds me of the F40 in some ways.
Venturi Atlantique 300 (1999) 3l V6Turbo 310bhp@6200RPM 0-60: 5.0s V-max: 174mph Weight: 1400kg Venturi 400GT (1994) 3l V6 Turbo 400bhp@6000RPM 0-60: 3.6s V-max: 180mph Weight: 1150kg You can find some pics of both cars @: http://users.compaqnet.be/carcollect...nturipics.html cheers, jay |

"Unestablished?" I know of many car people who know and admire Venturi (or MVS) products. They've been making sports cars for over 20 years. I never considered them an alternative to Ferrari, but they would be Frances equivalent to TVR and Lotus of England.

What i mean by unestablished is that they have very little market entry, very little brand awareness... im sure you'll agree that very few people have heard of them, much less so than TVR.

The only way I know about Venturi and TVR is by playing the Gran Turismo series. I really like the cars.

Alas, crayzayjay is right when he's saying that Venturi is not well known. It sells good cars, but without advertisement. Porsche or Maserati are known all arround the world, and you can see some everywhere. Not Venturi.
That's maybe why the bankeroupted in 2000. But Gildo Pastor, a rich man living in Monaco bought this make and will sell a new Venturi, the Fétish (www.venturi.fr) The 300 Atlantic was sold from 97 to 2000.

Venturi's are ugly?!??!! i cant believe someone could think that... i think theyre gorgeous looking cars... they would have probably sold a little better but their price is a little too high when you think they're pitted against 911's and Ferrari's. Stefanel1> its good to hear (read ) that someone has bought the company, but i dont understand why one of the big French manufacturers, Renault or Peugeot dont acquire the company... they both need an exclusive/luxury supercar in their portfolio, it would be ideal for Ren or Pug to compete at a level which they havent yet entered.... a bit like FIAT acquiring Maz & Ferrari... the move makes sense to me, it would also improve the image of Renault or Peugeot......... what do u think? |

The Venturi Fetish is very nice looking, some touches are exquisite whereas a few details need to be toned down, perhaps the front of the car... but still, its an outrageous looking car... see for yourself:
more great pictures on this site: http://www.allsportauto.com/sportphoto.php3?zl_idMD=792 as for the guy calling Venturi's ugly, i promise im not saying this out of spite, but i think they're a prettier take of the Lotus Esprit... just my penny's worth |

I think jsb88 is smoking his floor, or is not likinf the Frenchs : Blair and Jacques Chirac fought Tuesday
The Fétish will be less expensive. It will be a competitor of the Lotus Elise and Renault Spider. I'm agree with you Crayzayjay, Renault or PSA could have bought Venturi, but they didn't because they don't want to take risks. But Fiat took less risks when he bought Ferrari and Maserati : these makes are famous. But what is surprising is that Renault and moreover Peugeot have big sales, they never earn so much money (benefites), so I don't understand their policy. We'll say that they have maybe some good reasons

I like Jaques more then Blair... he is a toss!
I like french cars, just not these ones, the Atlantique's look very simple, and plain. But the fetish looks good! |
