99 firebird 3.8 security problem
I have a 99 Firebird with a 3.8. I have been having a problem with the security for a couple years now and can not figure it out. Sometimes when you get in to start it, when you turn the key to start the security light will come on for 2 to 3 minutes and then go off. Sometimes it will start after that and some times not. I have replaced the key 4 times and replaced the ignition 2 times. I am at a stand still and dont know where to start next. I have talked to several mechanics here and they all tell me its the key or the ignition. But i have replaced them both several times and everytime its the same nothing. It might do it once one month and not again for 3 months. You just never know when. I have notied when my wife calls me and tells me that it is doing it again, most the time it is raiing of damp outside. Know not everytime but i think it seems like it does. Thanks for any help,

Re: 99 firebird 3.8 security problem
Qwik fix is to get the right value chip for a remote start and put it under the dash in the ignition cylinder wires. Always works for me check it out at an installer or stereo shop.
