Re: Recap of the Japanese F1 fleet - Take 2

Two more F1 photos taken at COX Inc in Japan within the past two weeks.

That is the left passenger seat removed from #060 on the floor in front of the car. The caption with this image translates to:

"Daily McLaren! Only 200km mileage"

WOW!!

This second photo appears to be #029. I don't think it's the same car as the one from before. Translating the caption from this image it reads:

"Moreover, unregistered vehicle photo vehicle owned by a collector!"

I've been told this car has about 300kms on it.

029 is being shopped around by Euro Classics too based on the small photo of the car in Cavallino

Re: Recap of the Japanese F1 fleet - Take 2

About time to drop a message here. I was very glad to see that Erik finally managed to do his long planned update of the thread that I started a long time back. for the overview you've created, Erik!

Thanks as well for the kind words. At the time I just needed an overview of all the Japanese chassis, but I'd never thought we would end up having a Recap thread for all relevant regions. I'm a fan of structure and overviews and it's a pleasure every time to review the Recap threads. The Japan one remains my favourite though

Like Erik said, with my young family, I've had to rearrange priorities, but I have been checking in from time to time (Lurking as a Lesbian, I believe is the phrase?) and as said so many times before, it is great to see how this community shares, discusses and is very much alive. The other day I found the F1 pics thread over at Fchat (how could I ever have missed it? ) and I was glued to the screen until I had read all 40-50odd pages on it. This has re-ignited the F1 bug and I've been hovering the (Japanese) net for a couple of days now.
Unfortunately no luck in finding new things so far, seems as though Erik has found everything. Some very nice findings in this new thread. Very nice to see new pics of the yellow one, pity of course that it is still wrapped in plastic, unbelievable.

Cheers,
Bucciali

Rosso Magazine from October 1999

Note the shot of the 58F1GT on the contents page too.

ER
Have tried to buy this issue through the Yahoo JP auction site, but couldn't get Paypal, creditcard, nor Yahoo Credit to work
Did find this pic of the Rosso mag of October '99, guessing that the spread is of that same mag.

Anybody know a JP dedicated books/mags site, where Paypal/CC is accepted?

I don't know of any and that image is a little discouraging as the F1 pictured there is the Clinic Model. I was hoping for some unique Japanese F1 content.

Re: Recap of the Japanese F1 fleet - Take 2

This appears to be an image of #018 taken while it was in Japan which makes it pretty rare. The other possibility in my mind was #003, but it has the wrong mirrors to be that car.

One additional clue to it being #018 is that it appears to be on the very same tow truck that LM2 is on in this shot which came from the same Japanese website.

It's not often though that people have 2 copies of the same, so they can show both the front cover & content in one and the same photo. Perhaps it's two different issues?

Stumbled over these small pics, and the accompanying text mentions it was a photoshoot for Genroq magazine. That reminded me of seeing a mentioning of 'McLaren F1' on their 25th anniversary issue of July 2010. Not sure, but it could be it was for this issue. Haven't found any pics of the content of this issue, but will keep on searching.

Funny enough, Mr. Ide from Iding Power is interviewed in it too

That's #043!!! ...or at least the car we believe to be #043. The last pics I have seen of that car were from 2001. With a Carrera GT in the photo these are surely more recent than that. Sweet!

The other Iding Power shots got their own thread with related subject matter:

The Iding Power V12...
