Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV

Hi all,
I recently work on this GT1 car.

It's a great Aoshima kit with over 230 parts. It won't be a fast job.

Wheels are painted with Alclad2 aluminium.

Wing covered with C/F

After decaling the body parts got automotive clearcoat and Alclad2 Light sheen finish.

Every time I apply decals like this I seem to get a small "rise" from where the layers of carbon fiber decal are overlapping. Like on the side of the center console here.
But on your pictures from a later stage in the process it looks perfect.

Do you sand down the edge of the decal before applying the next part?
You line the next part up without any overlap?

Or what is the trick?

Very nice build !
I will continue to look at the progress.

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV

Johan_SWE: the trick is, that I try to lay decals without overlapping. I made templates from masking tape, a lot of little pieces... mostly they don't overlap each other. But if they do, it's not a big problem. I use Mr. Mark Softer from Gunze for laying decals. It makes the edges soft and thin, so the overlapped surface won't be noticable after clearcoat.

Awesome work so far! I've been eyeing off one of these R-SV Lambo kits for a while, this is really motivating me to pull the trigger!!
