Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
Unlikely the ecu.
I would first suggest rewiring the fuel pump. Have you checked if there is voltage at the pump? If there is then it could very well be the pump itself. if there is not then the rewiring will solve the problem.

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
k so i dont think you understand, i do NOT have power at the pump (not getting any volts) as i stated before. i also get continuity from the wires to the pump. so i dont need to rewire the pump.

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
Pin 74 from the ecu is white with red stripe. It goes to your fuel pump relay. I guess you should test to see if has voltage then.

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
Well if what you're saying is you have voltage right up to the pump and its not turning on then it must be the pump? But you say you aren't getting power to the pump. Yet you have power at the relay and the wires to the pump have continuity. SO at what point does the power ground out?

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
FWIW I'm confident that something like this would cure your problem.
I have this exact kit on my car... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/DSM-FUEL-PUMP...item3cb685b0d4

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
yea it comes with its own relay. You wire the power source direct from your battery to your new relay. Then you splice a couple of the existing wires attached to the old relay attach those to the new relay and your done.

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
I had that same kit on my DSM and it is super easy to install. There's only 4 wires that hook into it. You run a 12v from your battery to one post, a ground to the chassis and to one of the posts, then to the pump itself there's the power wire, you cut that and run one end to one of the posts and the other end to the 4th post. So the power coming to the pump is cut and then it is ran to pass through the relay that uses the 12v power to amplify the power going to the pump. Really easy to do and can be completely accomplished in about an hour or so.
...and there is no toggle switch |

Re: 97 eclipse non turbo mt base=no power to pump
You need to check and see if you are getting power to the coil pack and injectors. The ASD relay provides power to the fuel pump, injectors, and coil. If you are getting power to everything but the pump then you have a wiring issue or the pump is bad. If nothing has power (Note that they will only have power when priming on first power up and when cranking) Then the ECU in the car is not turning the relay on… Meaning that you have another issue you need to be looking for. Could be a bad crank position sensor etc.
