Gt500e

Anyone seen the new ones, these ones are being made by Carroll Shelby I believe, I had seen something about them long ago that he was going to start building them again.

the car in the picture is called the GT500e. carol shelby had a limited number of old gt500 bodies from the 60's left over in the warehouse. He decied to use them up by building Elenor clones. There are a limited number for sale. im not sure of of the specs...im sure someone else will know.

Why do you need nitrous? If you are willing to spend 100K on one, you can have a 700hp 428 in it. All of the movie cars were 302's with the exception of one, the 351, and that was for recording the sound of the car.

These GT500E's are being made in Plano

You are correct that these are being made currently today. The guy who came up with it lives in Plano, TX and the photo you posted is from the Running Horses fountains in Los Colinas, TX aka Dallas.

The owner of the company who is building these clones spoke at the Tulsa Shelby meet a couple of weeks ago and there are two types being made. One with their standard engine and the other with a SCJ. He was bragging about who all has put an order in for one and the only name I remember was Kidd Rock a rapper because I thought it would end up on a music video.

They ran the cars in the road rally and on the drag strip. VERY UNIMPRESSIVE times. These things cost $150K and they were 13 sec cars. My stock 429CJ does that and I didn't pay $150K.

dear me!

Oh my God! why say things like that when you dont know what some of you are talkin bout. The GT500e is being produced by the Carrol Shelby company and sanderson sales. There will be 475 models made with a range of colours, they come WITH NOS [b] The previous post was roundabout correct they do cost that much but that is the price of the most advanced model called the "SUPER SNAKE" THIS HAS ALL THE DOGS BOLLOCKS IN!. the cheapest base model costs $80k and still is mind blowing. there are 3 models the "base model" has a 125 shot of NOS and a lot of good shit in it. The "PERFORMANCE" model has lots more at $120k including NOS system, front and rear disc brakes. The "SUPER SNAKE" model just demands total respect at a cost of $150k it is expensive but trust me you get what you pay for.On the sanderson sales site there is a massive amount of info, specs, pics and colour options. there is also a production line page where you can look at how these awesome beauties are made. They are restored from original Shelby Fastbacks from 1967/68 anyway for all the info visit
Hope that was informative cheers reply soon!
