ZX2 Transmission
I have a 2002 ZX2 Escort Automatic and after driving it one morning, that night it wouldn't go after putting it in gear, all that happened was the rpm would go up than after a lil bit the car wouldn't move. I Noticed fluid all over the ground and didn't think nothing of it, anyway can someone advise me what to do?

Re: ZX2 Transmission
Fluid all over the ground is a pretty serious issue. Now, at the very least, your transmission has a low fluid level which can cause problems on its own. The fluid leak could be a symptom of something even more serious. You'll have to find a transmission specialist for this one. It might be something easy like a blown gasket or seal, or you may need to rebuild or replace the transmission which could get more expensive than a 2002 escort ZX2 is even worth.

Re: ZX2 Transmission
Well, if it's still doing the same thing after fluid is topped off and the leak is fixed, it could be the torque converter, but it's more likely An internal problem in the transmission itself.

Re: ZX2 Transmission
It might be that the solenoid that controls the 'line pressure' in the transmission has hung up or is clogged. The result would be that the transmission wont get the proper pressure for shifting and staying in gear - and would slip as a result. Figuring out whether its getting the right pressure may be possible, using the pressure fitting on the front of the transmission, which has a raised "L" molded on the case next to it. You would still need someone who would know what the correct pressure checking procedure would be; I dont know this.
