2002 LS Rear end bounce

2002 Lincoln LS V8 3.9 240k miles. I just had a Certified rebuilt transmission installed and the car is ready for pick up from the Ford dealership.

So last year I replaced the front control arms, and got new front and rear shocks installed. I need new rear control arms but that's not happening for awhile. What I need is a solution for the rear end bounce. ...until I replace the rear control arms, and probably springs.

Any recommendation(s) for this? Maybe some kind of coil spring rubbers? If so which type will work the best without lifting the rear of the car?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of bounce are you experiencing? Typically when I hear about a bounce in the suspension, I think of a bad shock absorber or strut, but you mention yours are new.

Re: 2002 LS Rear end bounce

Its not bottoming out or bouncing two to three times on a dip in the road but it seems to bounce really deep, actually feels like the springs are shot. 240k miles and I still have the OEM springs and control arms. Not good, but not happening anytime soon because I just paid for a tranny. I got it back today.

Re: 2002 LS Rear end bounce

If the springs in the rear are shot, you'd likely notice that the back end is sitting low. I doubt that you'd have a reduced spring constant without also having a spring that can't fully support the normal weight of the vehicle. Maybe it's riding the way it should, but it's been so long since it's been "right" that if feels strange.

I understand. The back end is not sitting low and its level from left to right, and it supports the weight of the vehicle just fine. I still think it dips a little more than it used too when driving on uneven vertical surfaces. I'll leave it alone.
