Thanks everyone for the replies. Much appreciated.

The chassis was first painted semi-gloss black. Then, I lightly airbrushed matt black over the semi gloss, to get different shades. Once dry, I drybrushed with enamel alu from Tamiya and I think I finished with some tints from the Tamiya weathering sets (including white).

Next update then.

The window rubbers have been painted, also matt black. Maybe I'll drybrush them as well, to give them that semi-gloss look, but up to this point I'm still undecided about that. Note the left-hand side indicator that also has been done.

I'm quite sure that there is not a better build of this car to be found anywhere!

Re: Honda Prelude - 4th generation - Fujimi - 1/24 - detailed

Thanks again for the compliments.

Work continues. The front lamp units, side indicators, bumper lip and number plates have been finished and mounted. Note that the front side indicators are white and not yellow. This is because I'm making a post-facelift model, hence the modifications to the rear seats. This is also the reason why the front lamp units and completely in chrome and not partially chrome, partially black, as was the case with the pre-facelift models.

As I was getting curious to see how it'll look when finished, I dry-fitted all parts done so far. Starts to look like a real Prelude.

Thank you for explanation. I'll try to reproduce the same effect on my own models.

Looks real good so far! You're doing a great job with a WEIRD kit!

Re: Honda Prelude - 4th generation - Fujimi - 1/24 - detailed

The rear lights are finished and have been mounted, as are the rear windows. I've dryfitted the finished rear wiper to see the fitment, as it has been modified also. The arm itself is kept from the kit, but the wipers and blade have been replaced with a PE part.

Need to bring it to Carglass (Autoglass) now to get the front window installed.

Wow.

I'm just floored.

That looks, rediculiously amazing.

I found this thread beacuse I was google searching looking for a 1:24 DIE CAST of this generation Prelude to add to my collection (i try to get a model of every car i've ever owned, and I just bought a 92 to put mileage on)

Anyway, I can't seem to find a diecast of the 4th gen prelude anywhere, and I really want one.

If you ever wanna sell this (or make one for me) let me know!

I'd love to make one myself, but I've not done one of these kits since I was like 12 and back then they are all pre painted and stuff, just snapped them together.

This is a really nice build. It's cool to see some "ordinary" cars once in awhile after all the exotics and muscle machines. Stunning work. Maybe if I tried curbside kits I could get more done!!

Great work, makes me miss my old Lude. Does the kit only come with the automatic shifter?
