1974 m-23

I am in the process of re-building some vintage as in 40 year plus Tamiya 12th scale kits.
One of the cars is the 1974 Texaco-Marlweed car .
Recently purchased Tabu decal sheet for this and the reds seem awfully dark.
Old Tamiya decals and paint color recommendations are brighter.
Anyone have an idea which is correct?

Tamiya suggest TS-49 Bright Red for the car. Personally after looking at photographs I would go with the brighter red..

I would settle for bright red even though like you I think it was a bit brighter but TS 49 matches Tamiya decal which I do not have.
Tabu sheet which I do have is way dark for 74.
