Are you talking about TRD exhuast? Its only Axle back and you can feel SOME gains but not as much as an aftermarket catback which is a full pipe not the one TRD has which is only from your back wheel and on. Its not hard to install since its a bolt-on from factory.

Re: questions before i buy

the exhaust is easy, and takes about 30mins to do. its one bolt
unfortunetely, its is only an axle back, so you wont feel any gains at all. If you are looking for gains, you're better off not changing your exhaust until you go with forced induction.
too little back pressure running NA will significantly lower your low end torque.
and in a car that weighs nearly 3k. lbs, torque is gold.
the axle back wont take any of your back pressure any however. itll just sound a lot nicer.

in my opinion, no axle back exhaust is worth 500 dollars.
mcgeorgeparts.com probably has it for around 350, you im sure you could install it yourself, its a 30min. job

yea should only take about 30min., and mcgeorge has good prices, but I'd dish out the extra $50 on top of the dealer price and get a ZPI Cat-Back exhausts, way better deal www.zpiracing.net

Re: questions before i buy

or if you're so ready to spend 500 bucks, you could go for the fidanza flywheel upgrade. it'll cost you about 800 in total though, what with price of the flywheel plus installation, but you'll be able to feel the improvement unlike the axle back.

also, before you go on buying cat backs for cheap, make sure you buy a stainless steel system if you live in the salt belt, otherwise your exhaust is going to rust away real quick like. alumized piping may be cheap, but it's not always worth the price.

another quick note: try not to buy anything from the dealership. every dealership in the nation has insane markups on all of their products. buy your parts online and take them to a shop if you don't feel you can handle the install. you will ALWAYS save 10's if not 100's of dollars off of the dealership prices.

happy modding

Re: questions before i buy

i have the trd axleback on mine. it sounds GREAT imo. altho definetly not worth the price. i dont really feel any gains ( but i drive an auto) if you wanted gains, go with a cat-back.
