Pretty much amazing
|
Yes, it's real I think 4 or 5 were made, the Sultan of Brunei owned all but that one. I think it's for sale for $200,000 or so somewhere and it actually is the cooelst looking wagon I've ever seen other than the Bentley Arnage T Shooting Brake.

Station wagon
The best wagon ever made
Somebody may have already said this but i could care less. yeah, so ferrari only made 5 of these beauties, and the Sultan of Brunai bought like 3. the rest were sold privately...It has a regular modena engine, so it runs like 390 horses. nice. |

Ultimate car page says it has the same V12 as the 456 GT.

Officially its a 456 estate, but the only thing it has in common with the 456 is the engine. The body panels are all made specifically for the, i think 7, that were made and the tranny isnt even ferrari, its Porsche.

Sultan 456
I am almost certain they made 3, all specially ordered by that SoB (...that is Sultan of Brunei). He also ordered 3 456 4-door sedans as well as 3 456 convertibles. That could be the biggest special order Pininfarina and Ferrari ever took as thay are known to produce special one-offs from time to time for "very special customers'. E.g. I know they sent a Testarossa targa to Belgium back in the 80s.

Some more accurate infos!
There were 5 Estates built! The Sutan of Brunei had bought 3 of them, the rest two of them are in Europe/US
Only one ist left-hand drive and it was up for sale from a german dealer for 1Mio€ The engine and gearbox are the same from the normal 456GT. The body design was made from the original designer of the 456GT, Sergio Pininfarina. He also designed for the Sultan a limo and a cabrio version. More infos about the car here And about the car collection of the Sultan click here! |

Personally, I think it's kind of ugly. What I liked most about the 456 was the way the shape of the rear windscreen flowed into the trunk line. But I suppose Pininfarina did a pretty good job for such a strange request...
