06' Fusion SJB Replacement
Hello everyone, Dealer suggested to replace the SJB Module (Fuse Box) as it is rusted due to water leakage....total cost (more than $600)...can't afford.
I found the SJB module from a junk yard and plan to replace it by myself. Anyone knows if it is easier to do it and I won't blow up anything, and also whether my vehicle key will work with the new module or not, I only have one key? or if I'll need to visit the dealer again. They already skimmed $95 just to tell me that I've to replace SJB. ANy response is highly appreciated |

Re: 06' Fusion SJB Replacement
I hope it's not too late to try and help you out. The smart junction box is basically an advanced fuse box, as you already know. If your old one rusted? you have a water leak the needs to be fixed. I am a ford tech, and I havent seen any water leaks in a fusion, which means they are rare, we have sold a bunch of them, I would have seen some by now. The PATS function is in the instrument cluster (your antitheft) why you should have 2 keys, it shouldn't matter. I don't believe you need to program an SJB to a specific car. If you haven't already done it, reply and I can see what the ford manuals say about replacing a SJB and programming.
