Access code 11 no distributor reference signal

This is on a 88 model W-150 with TBI 318 and it has sat for a couple months and now is throwing this code 11. It starts up but does not idle smooth and it stalls and hesitates bad. It says to check the circuit between the distributor and PCM. Has anyone had this problem and where is the most likely place to start looking for the problem?? Thanks.

Disconnect from the battery and let sit for about 10 minutes, it may come back on again but should disappear after a few starts.
