96 Ram died today???
I was hoping someone here had some feedback for me.
Coming home from work early this morning my truck basically started bogging on me on the highway........slowly it came to a halt. I shut her down and it took a few cranks to get her goin again.....it drove ok for a few miles but then died again. I noticed it seem to accelerate ok to about 30mph but kept cutting out if I tried goin past that. Any ideas? O2 sensor? fuel pump maybe? I think it might be my O2 sensor but Im not sure, I just changed it like a yr ago after it did somethng similiar but at that time it wldnt go over 70mph. How long do these sensors last for? Any easy tests I can perform to see if thats it? Any online companies selling these parts for a decent price rather than the $95 I payed last yr for it? Sorry for all the questions!!!! I wld greatly appreciate ANY help someone can gimme! TIA!

I had a 94 Yukon that would do that, but only when it was warm (hot) out. turned out to be the in-tank electric fuel pump, and would act like a vapor lock problem. $400 for the dealer to install one, only 'cause I had just put 30 gallons in it, and had no way of getting the tank down without making a huge mess!!
My 99 Ram had the tank quantity sender go out, and they pulled the bed instead of dropping the tank...thank goodness for waranty work!! Good luck Mike |
