DL3 Mirror Mod

Can someone please tell me how to achieve this?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k52KzgNQnu0

I have 3 different wiring diagrams that attempt this mod but I'm not good at reading diagrams. I need someone to break it down in easy to read terms.

If I'm in the wrong forum please move this.

One is for manual switch fold but i want auto.

Re: DL3 Mirror Mod

I cannot watch videos at work (puter is dorked up) and only one of the schematics worked. I assume it folds the side mirrors in when the alarm is set to prevent damage.

Re: DL3 Mirror Mod

Yes. That's exactly it.

Send me a PM and I can email you the schematics

I was told with one setup you can use 2-PAC TR-7's and 2 relays.
The other 2 DEI 528t's and 2 relays.

I have no idea.
I'm one who has to have a step by step. I am not good at reading diagrams

I don't see the one for the TR-7 but either way you should be able to just get 2 of either module and wire them up like the instructions say.

Re: DL3 Mirror Mod

Haha. That's just it. I only have the diagram and no kind of instructions. As I stated before, reading those and trying to decipher them is all foreign to me.
I'm trying to find someone who can add instructions to all that mess.

Do you see the hand drawn diagram?

I'm not afraid to try and wire it as I'm going to pull power from the fuse block and the only thing I think could go wrong is burning up the motors. The wires for the power fold are separate from the wires for the adjustment, defrost and turn signal indicators which I will unplug while doing this.

Re: DL3 Mirror Mod

The hand drawn one does not conform to standard labeling but it should work. That's a manual one where you have to hit the switch. My problem is I have been doing wiring for so long that you're asking me to explain why 2+2=4. Everywhere you see a line, it's a wire connecting things together. In his (wrong) example, the power from the fuse block goes to pins 86 & 87 on both relays. 85 is a ground signal. I guess the mirror move motors work on a gnd input, leave it to GM. Maybe you should read read up on bosch relays to see how they work first.
