Sauber C9 (Tamiya)

Hello from a new member from Greece.
This is my Sauber C9, Le Mans winner 1989. Most of the work is focused on levelling the front part with putty and scraping (Tamiya gives it in two pieces).
Note: No airbrush used at all, only Humbrol sprays.
My first model was made in 1976 (hence the name).

Please feel free to send any feedback.

Re: Sauber C9 (Tamiya)

Welcome to the club.

The model is looking great. I love these cars. Color is looking good and the built looks to be clean. One tip, maybe put some clear over the bodyparts.
Before using 2K clear, I always used the spray cans from mr Hobby.

Good work and keep up posting

Re: Sauber C9 (Tamiya)

On version LeMans you have forgotten to place metal plates on front fenders. They are specified in the instruction!

Re: Sauber C9 (Tamiya)

Many thanks for your kind words.
A reply to Sebastian: The Nr 63 started the race at 16:00 without the metal plates on front fenders. They placed them at aprox. 20:30. The role of those metal plates is to nulify the air turbulence to the windshield and the water in case of rain.
Having watch the race, I'm sure about this fact.
The Nr 63 finished the race with the metal plates.

Some forums (like the aircraft forums) can really be obsessive about details (rivet counters?), but I really like it when a modeler takes the time out to (A) research the subject he's building and (B) explains it to others. Well done!
