Re: 740 with Ford 302 conversion kit- converse?
There exists some converse kits (for both 740 and 240) so you can easily mount Chevy 305/350 engines and their common automatic transmissions. But these are not so common to find since we are not allowed to insert to powerful engines in our cars but some companies sell them, and some private persons. Don’t know about the Ford engines, we don’t have so high thoughts about Ford in general. And the youth are now crazy in turbo engines which the original Volvo engine are good for to build on so the requests about other kits are even lower now. It was back in the 80’s everyone waned to get Chevy’s for some extra power.
Shouldn’t be all too hard to make own kits. I had an old v8 truck engine in my 242. It’s just to dare to weld. |
